From this day we are officially members of the Boltfish Recordings family. They promised to release our mini-album, titled Vízállásjelentés (BOLT045) in October.

My guitarist colleague, Róbert Potys features in three tracks. The cover photo has taken by my dj mate, Karex aka Plesiv. The audio mastering will be done by none other than Cooler, my labelmate. Since the release is so limited, you won't be able to buy copies from me, sorry about that. Use the preorder from the label's page in time (I'll give you a shout here in the news section) if you are into it, then you won't miss anything! :)

Gfx Comp! - submit your works! - deadline expanded!!

We are in the process of creating & editing an electronic/electroacoustic music related collection of writings in Hungary, due to be out in autumn 2006. It will be available as a CC licensed pdf (and other derivative formats) + we will create a very limited amount of hard copies which will be given to libraries.

Various proffesors from Hungarian Faculties of Arts and other young talents are going to publish their works in this collection which still does not have a name. There will be reviews, interviews, essays, and artist/label portraits in it. We are going to organise tiny music+discussion events too, and promote the collection online and offline as well. I am going to translate the whole or some parts of it into English, but for this I don’t have an exact date.

Although writings will be written by Hungarians, we would like to involve graphic artworks in the collection as well from all around the world which would be “exhibited” between the writings.

Terms of conditions:

- Please send your artist name and your title of the ONE work you can submit. (if it doesn’t have one, we’ll publish it as Untitled)

- Bear in mind that we don’t have any problems with detailed and fully coloured submissions, though we will not be able to print it in full colour, only in 256 greyscale. We would suggest you then to make a compromise somehow due to this fact.

- However big work you send in size, notice that the maximum space for it will be only an A4 sheet of paper

- All parts of the publication will be free, so nobody will get money for his or her job.

- There is a NEW deadline, it is the 10th of February 2007, 23:59

So, feel free to send anything in email to me which you would relate to electronic or electroacoustic music!

"To dig a little deeper into the subject, I ran a short-term discussion group earlier this year with the administrators of three exemplary netlabels. As with a previous Disquiet-based online discussion ("After 'Thursday Afternoon,'" on the 20th anniversary of the Brian Eno album), the conversation transpired in private via an Internet-based forum, and what appears below is a transcription that was lightly edited after the dialog had reached its natural conclusion.

The participants were Andras Hargitai of Complementary Distribution (bitlabrecords.com/cod), based out of Budapest, Hungary; Nathan Larson of Dark Winter (darkwinter.com), based out of Minnetonka, Minnesota; and Pedro Leitao of Test Tube (monocromatica.com/netlabel), based out of Lisbon, Portugal.

VBR is a special netlabel from Hungary which only releases archived audio collages of the radio show with the same title covering free netaudio music from all around the world. A new programme is aired every Saturday, 15:00 CET at Radio Periszkop FM 97.1. Once a programme becomes archive, it will be available here as a podcast.

cod010 - Soutien Gorge: Story Told In The Town Of Friendly Tentacle Worms video by Vj Mao

Complementary Distribution's 10th release is a video single. The sounds were taken from the parent label Bitlab Records’ 2nd release which is 'L'étoiles Souriantes' by Soutien Gorge (the co-founder Andras Hargitai's & the guitarist Robert Potys' project). The moving images were recorded, edited and cut by a young local Vj talent in Hungary, namely Mao who does visual performances accompanying many known Hungarian underground Djs' sets. Not to mention that he often surrounds the Plan B crew (a Hungarian Dj movement which Banyek is proud to be a member of) with his visuals at their parties. This lovely song is one of the album's standout tracks for sure, and the video became as pleasant as the sounds with its naturalist, and relatively minimalist concept. Urban symbiosis, children, water, flowers, trolleys and romanticism in about 5 minutes. This is the very first Soutien Gorge video. Press play, peace starts.
